Lot description
Enfield Tower Percussion Rifle, Pattern 1853, .577 caliber, 39" barrel, blade front sight, brass nose cap, ramrod, three barrel bands, the front band with a sling swivel, adjustable rear sight numbered 2 to 8, the barre top marked next to the hammer with "crown over IN or LN", marked at the barrel left side proof marks and "25", the lockplate marked "1862 Tower" and a "crown" behind the hammer, a sling swivel at the trigger guard, wood and metal with light scratching and dings, the barrel metal is dark with some spots lighter and brown, the hammer sets to two positions, the action is good, the bore light brown surface rust with visible light rifling, approx. 55"l, 9lbs, no serial number
