Protohistoric polychrome-on-brown pottery jar, possibly Yuma, with wide shoulder, narrowed neck, and flaring rim, painted on the exterior with two surmounted zigzag dentate bands, accompanied by a bag of soil/dirt, origin and age of soil unknown, approx 11.5"h, 13"diam, pot: 7lbs, soil/dirt: 6.75lbs, 13.75lbs total (for shipping) Provenance: From the collection of Frank K. Ribelin (1933-2010) through inheritance to consignor. This lot was examined via photograph by a highly regarded specialist in Native American and ethnographic art.
