French St. Etienne Cavalry Saddle Ring Carbine, Model 16, bolt action, 8mm Lebel caliber, Berthier design, 17.5" round barrel, blade front sight, bayonet lug, CAI import mark on barrel near muzzle, two barrel bands, the inner band with mounted saddle ring, adjustable rear sight marked "A" and adjustable 200-2000 meters, stock cutout for serial number on barrel left, the left receiver wall marked "St. Etienne Mle. M.16", the receiver ring marked "N" at top, an "M" mark at left interior receiver, when closed the number "97" is visible, the trigger is a straight form, the floorplate marked within a circle "HVR" and within a rectangle "MAC or G", hardwood stock. sling bar at left buttstock, steel buttplate, the serial number is matched at barrel, bolt handle, trigger guard, and on the buttstock, wood with scratches, dents at least factory inset repairs, bore is semi bright with well defined rifling, SN 19363 REQUIRES FFL TRANSFER"
