(lot of 3) Military epaulettes and helmet plates, including: (pair) New York State Militia uniform epaulettes, late 19th /early 20th c., having gilt cord, silver thread devices including Infantry crossed rifles and Lt. Colonel leaves, each epaulette with a single gilt "Excelsior" button depicting the New York state seal, all on a black ground, housed in a shadow box, overall: approx. 2"h, 14"w, 14"d; (1) British Victorian officer's brass helmet plate, of the Royal Lancaster Regiment, the Royal crown over a centered lion, on a faded red velvet ground and within a circular belt reading: "Honi.Soit.Qui.Mal.Y.Pense (older translation: evil be to him who thinks of evil)," a lower black ribbon form with the regiment name, approx. 5"h, 4"w, overall in frame: approx. 13.75"h, 11"w; (1) British Victorian officer's helmet plate, of The East Surrey Regiment, c.1881-1891, at center the Arms of Guildford depicting a silver castle with three towers over a silver eight-point star, all on a faded black ground, surrounded by a circular plate with the lettering as in the previous item, brass plate, the black ribbon form with the regiment name: approx. 4.75h, 4.5"w, overall in frame: approx. 13.75"h, 11"w; 6.75lbs total Note: The epaulettes are displayed in a enclosed shadow box and were not opened, thus the age is an estimate.
