French ebonized prie dieu/ prayer kneeler, 19th c., padded top rail and seat in a worn needlepoint upholstery with floral motifs, the seat bearing M monogram, scrolled back with central crucifix and C-scrolls, rising on short frontal cabriole legs, upholstery staining, fading and small thread losses, approx 34.5"h, 21"w, 18.5"d Provenance: The collection of Kathryn V. Alexander, an antiques dealer and designer with over 20 years of experience operating shops in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Middleburg, Virginia. Kathryn retired in 2020 and now lives in Georgetown, Texas
