(lot) American sterling silver demitasse drinks set, Gorham, hallmarked sterling with maker's marks, including: (5) handled cup frames, marked 3550 at side, each fitted with Lenox parcel-gilt porcelain liner, frame: approx 2.5"h, 2.75"w, 2"d, overall with liner: approx 2.75"h, 3"w, 2 3/8"d; (5) matched sterling saucers, marked 3551 underfoot, approx 4"diam; 10.27ozt total (weighable silver only), 552.6 grams total (inclusive of porcelain liners) Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance. The estate features an extensive array of English furniture alongside antique decorative objects, the kind of exceptional pieces that only reveal themselves to collectors who know where to look and what to seek.
