English brass-bound writing slope/ travel desk, late 19th c., central vacant cartouche, opening to interior with gilt-embossed green leather writing surface, pen and ink receptacles with two wells, over open storage, approx 5"h, 11.5"w, 8.5"d, 4lbs Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
