Lot description

English figured wood writing slope/ travel desk, late 19th c., mounted with brass banding and central vacant cartouche, opening to paneled writing surface, concealed storage under either side, fitted with pen and ink receptacles, approx 6"h, 12"w, 9"d, 6lbs Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance. The estate features an extensive array of English furniture alongside antique decorative objects, the kind of exceptional pieces that only reveal themselves to collectors who know where to look and what to seek.
