English Georgian period fruitwood slant-front bureau, late 18th/ early 19th c., having fall-front cabinet, revealing interior gallery fitted with letter slots and shallow drawers, above four exterior drawers, rising on bracket feet, drawers with stable splits, old repair to fall front at lower left with hinges replaced, approx 43.75"h, 37.5"w, 21.5"d Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
