Lot description

Scottish mixed wood linen press, 19th c., having ogee-molded cornice, above dual cabinet doors, revealing fixed-height shelving, lower case fitted with four additional drawers, with large circular knobs, rising on turned feet, approx 81.5"h, 48.5"w, 20.25"d Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance. The estate features an extensive array of English furniture alongside antique decorative objects, the kind of exceptional pieces that only reveal themselves to collectors who know where to look and what to seek.
