Antique Colt Single Action Army Revolver, Mfg. 1888, .45 caliber, having a 4.75" barrel with blade front sight, the barrel top marked on a single line "Colt's PT F.A. Mfg. Co, Hartford Ct. U.S.A., the left frame with a three line patent date, the last being "Jan. 19.-75.", a six round fluted cylinder marked at the rear with a "P" and "I", wood grips, the left grip with a faint square that may or may not be an inspection mark, the metal is mostly silver tone with a very small percentage of nickel plating remaining, the ejector operates but the barrel underside was not examined because the ejector housing screw is damaged, the action is strong with 4 hammer clicks, the bore has some pitting and strong appearing rifling, the fourth digit of the serial number in all observed locations is an "8" struck over a "7" which does not affect the mfg. date stated above, the serial number appears at butt, frame and barrel lug, SN 86680
