French Napoleon III bone folding fan, late 19th c., dual-sided lithographic decoration with hand-embellishments, one side with reserves of cherubs and parcel-gilt floral spray, reverse with pairs of birds framing a figural scene of courtship, pierced bone sticks inlaid with gilt-metal floral medallions and foliate motifs, housed in a dual-sided standing shadowbox frame, fan: approx 10.5"h, 19.75"w, overall: approx 13.25"h, 21.25"w, 3.5lbs Provenance: The Tarrytown, Austin, Texas estate of Janice Holliman Stanfield
