(lot of 54) French library shelf books, various literature and history subjects, most with gilt-embossed green leather binding, many with raised spine bands and marbleized cover, some with gilt page ends, highlights include: (12) "Oeuvres de Lesage (Works of Lesage)," by Alain-Rene Lesage, all with gilt page ends, published by Antoine Augustin Renouard, Paris, 1821; (10) by Emile Zola, green leather binding with remnants of green pigment, marbleized covers, published by Bibliotheque-Charpentier Eugene Fasquelle, 1886-1916; (6) "Simone et Marie (Simon and Marie)," by Xavier de Montepin, published by E. Dentu, Paris, 1883-1888, volumes I-VI; largest: approx 9.5"h, 6.25"w, 1.75"d, 53.75lbs total PLEASE NOTE: All of the antique library shelf books in this auction are inherently fragile.
