(lot of 26) French library shelf books, periodicals, literature, and crime subjects, many with gilt-embossed leather binding and marbleized covers, some with raised spine bands, highlights include: (7) "Journal des Demoiselles (Young Ladies' Journal)," published at 14 Rue Drouot, Paris, 1895-1903; (3) by Victor Hugo, published by Jean-Jacques Pauvert, Paris, copyright 1963, comprising (one) "Oeuvres Dramatiques Completes, Oeuvres Critiques Completes (Complete Dramatic Works, Complete Critical Works)," (one) "Oeuvres Romanesques Completes (Complete Novelistic Works)," (one) "Oeuvres Politiques Completes, Oeuvres Diverses (Complete Political Works, Miscellaneous Works)," all with blue fabric binding; (5) housed in marbleized slipcase, comprising (three) "Les Papiers Posthumes du Pickwick Club (The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club)," by Charles Dickens, published by Les Bibliophiles Africains, Casablanca, volumes I-III, (two) "Lettres a L'Etrangere (Letters to the Foreigner)," by Honore de Balzac, published by Calmann-Levy, Paris, 1842-1846, volumes II and III; largest: approx 11"h, 9"w, 2.5"d, 88.5lbs total PLEASE NOTE: All of the antique library shelf books in this auction are inherently fragile.
