Patinated bronze maquette sculpture, "Willie Nelson," bearing the mark of Clete Shields (American, active in Philadelphia, b.1970), dated 2010, numbered 13/ 30, approx 15.75"h, 9"w, 7.5"d, 27lbs Note: This bronze is a maquette of the eight-foot-tall public sculpture located in front of the Austin City Limits Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. It depicts the legendary country music star Willie Nelson (American, b.1933) seated with his guitar. Completed by Capital Area Statues in 2012, the full-sized sculpture was partially funded by public donors, who received maquettes for reaching a certain contribution tier. Another of these maquettes currently resides at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. Provenance: From a local Austin estate
