(lot of 3) Estate sterling silver brooches, including: (1) pendant brooch, Aztec calendar design, marked Mexico/ Taxco/ JMB/ 925/ eagle #3, approx 1.75"diam, (1) pendant brooch, pre-Columbian inspired design with mask, marked FNM (?)/ Taxco Mexico 925, eagle #3, approx 2.25"diam, (1) brooch, bezel-set cabochon malachite, beaded and s-scroll borders, marked C(?)/ 925, approx 1 5/8"h, 2 1/8"w; 77.2 grams total (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
