(lot of 2) Native American silver (content unknown) jewelry, likely Zuni, both pieces apparently unmarked, including: (1) brooch, carved turquoise petals forming a circle, approx 2"diam, (1) tie tack, miniature katsina mask with multi stone inlay, approx 0.75"h, 5/8"w; 21.2 grams total (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
