Lot description
Southwest sterling silver bolo tie, large Pietersite/ chalcedony plaque set in a silver bezel, silver bolo tips, braided black leather cord, ornament stamped sterling/ WC, bolo ornament only: approx 3.25"h, 2.25"w, 92.8 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
