Lot description
Post Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Officers Sword, the 30" double edge blade marked at the left ricasso "Wm Read & Sons, Boston, Mass." and having a single clamshell guard embellished with a raised eagle over flags, the handle is wire wrapped over black leather, an embellished knuckle guard, the pommel with an eagle and shield, housed in a gilt finished metal scabbard having finish loss, the sword overall in good condition, sword with scabbard is approx. 36.5"l, 1.85lbs
