Lot description
French Briquet short sword, a 23.5” curving blade, with numerous black spots, marked at the spine “Manuftre R le du Klingenthal Fevrier 1817, inspection marks at right ricasso including “K” and “L”, the brass guard marked at the left above the ricasso "A, 4, small letter E, L, small N stamped over another letter, the left knuckle bow stamped "Versailles" where handle was likely manufactured, the right side marked above the ricasso "929 and small B", brass handle and pommel, housed in a brass mounted worn leather sheath, overall 30"l, 2.35lbs
