Lot description

Mounted Artillery Officer Sword, c. 1820, the 28.5" curved blade embellished with martial engraving retaining very slight gilding, and including drums, shield, cannon, spear and marked "Warranted" before the ricasso area on one side, an approx. 3/8"w gilt band and lines at each side of the blade at the ricasso area, the 'D' guard with a langet at both sides, the handle is wire wrapped white bone, the sword approx. 34"l, housed in a brass scabbard with one side having repousse foliate and scrolled decoration from throat to drag and two suspension rings, overall with scabbard approx. 35.5/8"l
