U.S. Springfield Trapdoor Rifle, Model 1873, mfg. first quarter 1874, .45-70 caliber, 32.5/8" barrel, three piece Type 2 cleaning rod, two barrel bands with "U" markings, fixed front sight, adjustable rear sight, the breechblock marked "Model 1873, over an eagle on crossed arrows over U S", the lock plate marked with eagle next to "U.S. Springfield, over 1873", two sling swivels and stacking swivel, long wrist stock marked at right near butt marked on three lines “58, Co. B, 8”,  butt plate tang is marked "U S", wood with scratches and dings, barrel, metal with light scratches and dark spots, action good, bore mostly bright with good rifling, SN 12478
