French patinated bronze and slate mantel clock, late 19th c., having figural topper signed in cast after Duchoiselle (French, 19th c.), depicting the author John Milton seated with copy of "Paradis Perdu" ("Paradise Lost"), over stepped case with marble inlay, central dial marked Giruit a Joigny, with Roman numeral hour markers, time-and-strike movement marked Medaille d'Argent Vincenti 1855, rising on stepped base, intact with loss at right side trim and bottom corner, approx 18.5"h, 17.5"w, 7.25"d, 39lbs Provenance: From the estate of Leslie and Angelyn Smith, Austin, Texas Start Price: $150.00
