(lot of 2) French Napoleon III period slate mantel clocks, late 19th c., including: (1) mantel clock and barometer, with inlaid malachite accents and incised gilt stringwork, porcelain dial with open escapement, Roman numeral hour markers, over aneroid barometer, time-and-strike movement marked S. Marti & Cie, rising on stepped base, approx 17"h, 13"w, 6"d; (1) having arched top over rectangular case, with inlaid marble accents and incised gilt stringwork, gilt metal dial with Roman numeral hour markers, time-and-strike movement marked Japy Freres, accompanied by pendulum, some surface wear and small chips to case, approx 11.5"h, 10"w, 6"d; 66.5lbs total Provenance: From the estate of Leslie and Angelyn Smith, Austin, Texas Start Price: $100.00
