Lot description
Auguste Francotte Side by Side Shotgun, early 20th c., 12 gauge, 26.75" barrels, bead front sight, the center rib with linear and foliate engraving, the underside with two small screws for a future sling loop, checkered forestock, engraved accents, takedown button, the barrel undersides with profuse inspection and maker markings including Crown over ELG and star, Crown over AF for maker, 12 within a diamond for gauge, "Siemens Martin Steel", the left barrel marked 17.6/18.4 for full choke, the right barrel 17.9/18.4 for improved-modified choke, shell ejector, the receiver with foliate engraving at top, sides, undersides, barrel lever and upper tang, slide safety at upper tang, the engraving continues to the double trigger guard and lower tang that also includes the serial number, the checkered walnut stock with small inset initial plate and black horn butt plate, the metal with some light scratching but retaining 95% of bluing, the wood with a dark rich patina, action is good, bores are bright with no dents, SN 62681 *REQUIES FFL TRANSFER*
