Large French Renaissance Revival tin-glazed earthenware display pedestal/ plant stand, Clement Massier (French, 1845-1917), Golfe Juan, late 19th/ early 20th c., pierced circular top, raised on figural supports modeled as three stylized griffins with paw feet, ending on tripartite platform base, impressed maker's mark underfoot, abrasions/ use wear to top, (one) griffin with firing flaw extending down the chest, remnants of filled reinforcement, base intact with professional restorations and inpainting, approx 53.25"h, 33"w, 29.5"d Provenance: Dallas, Texas: When the madness of collecting collides with connoisseurship
