(lot of 2) German earthenware covered punch bowl on underplate, Villeroy and Boch - Mettlach, late 19th c., model number 3037, each marked Geschutzt 1209 underfoot, comprising: (1) punch bowl, having domed lid with grape leaves and Greek key trim, above dual foliate handles, transfer-decorated with female wine bearers in architectural archways, inscribed "Malaga, Champagner, Tokayer, Rheingold, Moselblumchen, and Chianti," intact with stable hairline extending from the rim, approx 14"h, 14.5"w, 11"d; (1) matching underplate, approx 17"diam; 17.75lbs total Provenance: Dallas, Texas: When the madness of collecting collides with connoisseurship
