Chinese four-panel Coromandel (kuancai) folding screen, Qing dynasty, one side of each panel in a pale yellow lacquer with carved flora and fauna including pheasants and goldfish amongst rocky outcrops and tree branches, poetic inscription regarding "The Pond of Fenghuang, Queen of Birds," signed Mei Kan of Snow Terrace, reverse sides with carved "hundred antiques" motifs on black lacquer ground, intact with restorations and inpainting, each panel: approx 81.5"h, 21.25"w Provenance: Through our consignor, purchased at Beverly and Valentine Antiques, New York, in 1954.
