Large Neoclassical style carved Carrara marble sundial, after the antique "Newdigate Candelabra" by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Italian, 1720-1778), bronze dial with Roman numeral markers, inscribed "time is valuable," mounted to gilt-painted wood top, over sculptural standard with ibises, ram's heads, figural masks, and twisted French dolphin motifs, ending on square base, scattered marble losses and evidence of outdoor use, approx 48"h, 19"w, 19"d PLEASE NOTE: All of the cast stone and garden pieces in this auction have inherent flaws and evidence of outdoor use.
