Framed watercolor and gouache painting on paper, Scene from Shakespeare's Henry VIII: Henry's First Sight of Anne Boleyn, attributed to Alfred Edward Chalon (Swiss-born British, 1780-1860), after a detail from a painting by Thomas Stothard (English, 1755-1834), apparently unsigned, pencil inscription verso "Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn by AE Chalon R.A. (1780-1860), Act I Scene 4," retaining Pulitzer Gallery, London label with artist's attribution and December 1958 exhibition number, additional pencil inscription on dust cover, sheet affixed to mat with unknown adhesive tape at each edge, sheet: approx 8.5"h, 7 1/8"w, sight: approx 8"h, 6 5/8"w, overall: approx 16"h, 13"w; 2.75lbs
