Lot description
Framed pencil on paper drawing, attributed as a study for "Jerked Down," by Charles Marion Russell (Missouri/ Montana, 1864-1926), the original executed in 1907, now housed in the Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, Oklahoma, the sketch shows a cowboy on horseback throwing a lasso at a steer, vague sketching at left, the verso cutout having a 0.75" x 1.75" tag reading "From the effects of Charles M. Russell - Estate of Nancy C. Russell June 1941," the verso retains a Great Falls, Montana framing label, sight: approx 3"h, 6"w, overall: approx 17.25"h, 13.5"w, 2.25lbs Charles Marion Russell (Missouri/ Montana, 1864-1926), his wife Nancy Cooper Russell (Kentucky/ California, 1878-1940)
