Fine Chinese export lacquered sewing/ work box, elongated octagonal form, black lacquer ground with stippled decoration, ornamented with scrolling foliates, birds and insects, reserved with figural landscape scenes, the lid opening to removable fitted tray, with central bone spindle rod and compartments, retaining carved bone implements including lidded waxers, needle cases, thimbles, thread winders, shuttle, sewing clamps, etc., over a single drawer opening to concealed and open storage, on carved paw feet, approx 14"l, 10"w, 5.5"d, 5.25lbs
