(lot of 50) French library shelf books, various history, memoirs, drama subjects, and literature, all with gilt-embossed tonal leather binding, many with marbleized covers and end pages, some with raised spine bands, highlights include: (11) published by Jean de Bonnot, most covers with embossed armorial crest inscribed "boutez en avant (push forward)," comprising (seven) "Memoires de la Comtesse du Barri (Memoirs of the Countess of Barri), 1967, volumes I-V with duplicates of volumes I and II, (three) "Memoires de Mr. D'Artagnan (Memoirs of Mr. Artagnan)," 1966, volumes I-III, (one) "Louis de Saint-Simon du et pair de France Parallele (Louis de Saint-Simon, peer of France, Parallel)," 1967; (6) "Theatre de Eugene Scribe (Theatre de Eugene Scribe)," published by Bezou, Paris, 1828-1831, volumes IV-IX; (3) "Histoire de France (History of France)," published by Pourrat Freres, Paris, 1839, volumes II-IV; largest: approx 10.25"h, 7"w, 1.75"d, 67lbs total PLEASE NOTE: All of the antique library shelf books in this auction are inherently fragile.
