Lot description

French Model 1873 Revolver, double action, 11mm caliber, 4.5" part octagonal part round barrel marked at the top flat "Mle.1873", blade front sight on arched base, shell ejector rod, grooved rear sight at top strap, six round smooth cylinder, checkered thumb pull-back loading gate, checkered hammer, marked at right frame above the trigger guard "Mle d Armes St Etienne", numerous inspection markings at each side, checkered wood grips, lanyard ring at butt, the serial number is matched at the barrel, cylinder, trigger guard and frame, this revolver was factory produced with a 'white' finish, it was not factory plated or blued, there are light scratches and overall is silver tone with some light brown and overall has a good finish, the action is good, bore is generally bright, well defined rifling with visible rough spots, SN J16465 ANTIQUE
