Antique patinated bronze/ copper alloy figure, India, depicting the Jain Lord Bahubali (Gommateshwara), modeled after the monolithic tenth-century sculpture at the Shravanabelagola pilgrimage site, his nude body wrapped in vinery symbolizing his twelve-year meditation in a forest before attaining moshka, standing in kayotsarga atop a lotus pedestal, rising on stepped square base with Dravidian inscription, old losses to two corners of upper base, approx 18 5/8"h, 6"w, 6"d, 31.5lbs Provenance: the contents of a retired Wall Street executive's lakeside compound
