Louis XVI style gilt metal centerpiece / compote on stand, Meriden Britannia Company, Meriden, Connecticut, late 19th c., circular basin with lobed and beaded trim, encircled by pinecone finials, raised on scrolled horse-form supports, ending on round base with foliate ornamentation, makers mark to underside of bowl, numbered 9056, the basin resting on a Neoclassical style wood-top pedestal table, with tapered central standard and tripodal supports with winged dragon head terminals, ending on talon feet, centerpiece: approx 11"h, 17.5"w, 15.25"d, pedestal: approx 32.5"h, 18"w, 18"d Provenance: the contents of a retired Wall Street executive's lakeside compound
