Religious carved shell cameo pendant, late 19th c., housing a first-class (ex domo lauretana) relic, a fragment from the Holy House of Loreto, with glazed viewing window at verso, the cameo depicting Mary with the Christ Child, in a gilt-metal frame with twisted rope surround, on herringbone chain with lobster claw clasp, pendant: approx 2"h, 1.5"w, necklace: approx 8 5/8"l, 17.8 grams (inclusive of all materials) Provenance: from the extensive collection of a long-time contributor of relics, Catholic church goods, and liturgical antiques NOTE: ALL JEWELRY & COIN LOTS REALIZING OVER $1,000 MUST BE PAID BY BANK WIRE
