French Empire period Carrara marble and bronze dore portico mantel clock, early 19th c., surmounted by an eagle preying on a serpent and two seated cherubs, centering white dial with Arabic hour markers, marked Lersevalle a Riems, unmarked time-and-strike movement, rising on columnar supports with caryatid capitals, flanked by flowering urns and rinceau scrollwork, on platform base and cylindrical feet, accompanied by Apollo mask pendulum, loss to dial and hands, lacking bell, starts and stops, pendulum possibly unassociated or ill-fitting, minute chips to base, approx 25"h, 18"w, 5"d, 45lbs
