Fine carved santo/ altar figure, Nuestra Senora del Monte Carmelo (Our Lady of Mount Carmel), Spain, 19th c., gesso over wood with polychrome paint, inset glass eyes, adorned in elaborate silk mantle, with couched floral appliques, gold metallic thread trim, the child in matching garments, rising on carved wood stand with acanthus leaf border, overall: approx 22.75"h, 10.5"w, 7"d, 7.25lbs Provenance: The collection of Kathryn V. Alexander, an antiques dealer and designer with over 20 years of experience operating shops in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Middleburg, Virginia. Kathryn retired in 2020 and now lives in Georgetown, Texas
