Large English brass ecclesiastical lectern with presentation inscription, late 19th c., the bookrest fronted by an eagle with outstretched wings, perched on a half-round orb, over spiraled and engraved standard, inscribed round base, ending on paw feet, inscription reading: "To the glory of God, This lectern was presented to St Matthew's Church by Louis Hebblethwaite. Church Warden and his wife as a thank offering for his restoration to health, Whitsuntide (the week following Whit Sunday or Pentecost 1896," approx 65"h, 22"w, 15"d
