(lot of 2) Large English Imari palette stone china covered tureen and underplate, Hicks, Meigh and Johnson, 19th c., decorated with parcel-gilt lotus blossoms and foliate motifs on white ground, including: (1) covered tureen, having lid with protruding floral finial, above dual conforming handles, maker's mark underfoot, approx 10.5"h, 13.5"w, 9"d; (1) matching underplate, remnants of adhesive plate hanger underfoot, approx 14.25"l, 10.25"w; 9.5lbs total Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
