English Victorian brass umbrella or stick stand, late 19th c., in the form of a umbrella, profusely decorated with repousse figural masks, scrolling foliates, and shell motifs, central handle equipped with cast iron rack at interior, rising on a round base with egg-and-dart trim, separation at seams of paneling, approx 36.5"h, 12"w, 11.5"d, 13.5lbs Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
