George II sterling silver tankard, marks for Richard Burcombe, 18thc., the domed lid of stepped form, central BRM monogram, above encircled band, lower body, on a stepped foot, scrolled handle with ornamental thumbrest, partially legible London hallmarks, date code effaced, approx 7"h, 22.02ozt Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance. The estate features an extensive array of English furniture alongside antique decorative objects, the kind of exceptional pieces that only reveal themselves to collectors who know where to look and what to seek.
