George II sterling silver tankard, marks for Richard Burcombe, 18thc., the domed lid of stepped form, central BRM monogram, above encircled band, lower body, on a stepped foot, scrolled handle with ornamental thumbrest, partially legible London hallmarks, date code effaced, approx 7"h, 22.02ozt Provenance: The lifetime collection of Lynn Roth Jordan (Louisiana, Texas, 1943-2021). As an active member of the Austin Antiques Club for many years, Lynn was deeply embedded in the antiques community here in Austin. Her New Orleans upbringing in a family of collectors (many of the pieces come from her mother's estate), combined with her frequent trips to England, gave her a unique understanding of provenance, quality, and historical significance.
