French Gothic Revival carved walnut throne chair, late 19th c., having pierced trefoil crest flanked by pointed finials, in fine petit-point and gros-point needlework upholstery, the back depicting Saint Joan of Arc in suit of armor raising flag, among fleur-de-lis motifs, seat with the patron saint's flag and foliate scrollwork, rising on stretcher-joined turned legs, ending on front paw feet, restoration to raised elements at crest, approx 57"h, 26.5"w, 27.5"d, seat height: approx 17"h Note: pair of matching side chairs offered in this auction
