(lot of 2) Russian lacquered and painted papier-mache boxes, each having black lacquer ground with parcel gilt accents, red lacquered interior, including: (1) music box, depicting a scene from the folk tale "One Thousand and One Nights," with two figures and goose riding a flying carpet, signed lower right M. Bureeva, dated 1976, numbered 19846, titled in Cyrillic script lower left, with Reuge Swiss music box, playing "Allegro Polonaise" by Frederic Chopin, retaining Calliope, New Orleans retailer's label underfoot, music box movement not currently operational, appears to be wound-tight, approx 2"h, 7"w, 5"d; (1) Kholui School box, signed lower right B.
