English Georgian mahogany dressing case, early 19th c., hinged top with parquetry and stringwork trim, revealing divided interior with covered compartments, pen and ink receptacles, interior of lid lined in a worn red leather, reverse with folio for letter storage, retaining a copy of "The Ladies Polite Remembrancer," dated 1815, accompanied by provenance documentation, approx 5.5"h, 12.25"w, 10.25"d, 6.25lbs Provenance: Notarized letter chronicles the history of this dressing case from its original owner, Mr. Robert Jackson of Roston, an attorney of Mark Lane, through its familial ownership until 1960.
