German etched 1L pottery beer stein, "Munich Child With Saying," Mettalach, catalog no. 2002, design attributed to Otto Hupp (1859-1949), having heraldic lion in rampant pose thumblift, glazed lid with barrel of wheat and tools inlay, body with the central child, Munich cityscape and banded text "Wer nie mit einer vollen Maass auf einem Munchner Keller sass, der weiss nicht was vor anderen Volkern der Liebe Gott Bayern gab (He who has never sat in a Munich cellar with a full liter of beer, doesn’t know what God gave to Bavarians in preference to other people)," marked and numbered underfoot, approx 9.75"h, 4.75"diam, 2lbs
