Religious hand-painted cast (likely reconstituted alabaster/resin) sculpture, The Sixth Sorrow of the Virgin Mary, signed A. Santini (Ado Santini, Tuscany, b.1936), after the original by Michelangelo (Italian, 1475-1561) depicting the crucified body of Christ laid on the robed lap of the Virgin, with hand-painted chiaroscuro shading and detailing, mounted on lacquered wood stand, retaining L'Arte della Scultura Santini plaque, and maker-issued authenticity label, overall: approx 11.75"h, 9.5"w, 7.5"d, 9.75lbs
