Framed graphite drawing on paper, Portrait of John Russell "Hondo" Crouch, signed central right C.P. Vaughn (Charles Phillip Vaughn, Texas, 1943-2022), embossed medallion lower left margin marked Strathmore 400 Series, frame lacking glass, sheet: approx 21"h, 23.5"w, overall: approx 26.5"h, 26.5"w, 3.75lbs Note: "Hondo" Crouch (1916-1976) is hailed as a Texas legacy for his cultural contributions. He is best remembered for his founding of Luckenbach, Texas, where he coined the phrase, "Everyone's Somebody in Luckenbach," during his service as town mayor. Crouch continues to be a prominent Austin figure as a notable inductee of the University of Texas Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame
