(lot of 2) Italian church vestments, padded goldwork embroidery, naturalistic flowers worked in long and short stitches in shaded silk threads, tonal "vermicular" chain-stitch surface embroidery, the back panel with an archbishop's coat of arms of a rampant stag or goat below three stars, on a cream silk twill ground, red cotton lining, some staining and discoloration, including: (1) chasuble, approx 43"l, 27"w (measured flat), (1) stola or maniple, in two parts, each section: approx 46.25"l, 8.5"w Provenance: The estate and interior design collection of Gay Ratliff (Martha Gay Kokernot Ratliff, Austin, Texas, 1942-2023)
